Photographing people is my passion. To capture the photographic image of a person at a moment in time captures the essence of their spirit; who they are at that moment. This instant, has significance in that time, but as time passes and the person photographed and society change, the image evolves into an icon representing the past, a window into another time if you will. These images of people tied to the memory and emotion of that time, have a compelling significance for the generations of the future.
Using my camera to blend the subject with his background, and manipulating the light values of the photograph, gives me a feeling of connecting to the future people who will see that image. It allows me to give them a vision of the world I live in.
Whenever I photograph people I like to imagine the icon significance that my photos will have in the future. When I use my camera, it is essential for me to go beyond my comfort zone and strive to capture that which I have not seen before: That image which is always elusive, but which exist as a dream in the minds eye.
To me, every assignment is a fine-art photo shoot. I do not make distinctions between commercial photography and fine-art photography. Every subject has its artistic relevance, and if I am photographing it, I must look deep to discover its essence and significance. I shoot Environmental portraits, assignments, model portfolios, head-shots, events and weddings with a passion to reveal something grater than the sum of its parts.
